O symbol comes from the hand sign 👌🏽 "everything is ok" used in scuba diving. It also symbolizes our precious planet and all the adventures it provides for us. Let´s take care of it, shall we.
Story
It was a Christmas 2011 when my little sister gave me a black headband as a present. It was quite thick, more like a winter model. I fell in love with it immediately and wore it every day when going out to cold. Then I sadly lost it.
Years went by and I was spending xmas this time with my mother and sister. My mother loves to make all kind of small products from colourful and graphical fabrics. She sells those in small quantities in a tiny shopping are close to her apartment when they happen to have handcraft happenings. After xmas dinner she said to me that some of the fabrics have had small leftover pieces and only she could think of making from those were two headbands for me. I wore those till they ran out of date.
European winter season 23-24 I spent in Sri Lanka. I was driving around with my scooter when I passed by a fabric shop. I made an u-turn and went inside to ask if they could make me a handmade headband. I did not want just a basic size but came up with an idea to have it 3" high and width perfect fit to my head. They only had one stretching material and that was black so it kind of felt going back to square one but in a good way. To be honest the quality of tailoring was not that great but it did the job. I was wearing it all around but needed some brighter colors to Sri Lankan nights. So I went to find another fabric shop to buy some colourful stretch material and brought it to the first shop to let them continue developing even better tailored headband with me but now in bright colours.
I just loved how the headband feels and looks in my head no matter if I exercise, go just for a walk in the beach, hang around in the bar, go for a date. Then people started to ask me where did I buy that so I realized maybe some other guys would like this as well. So I started working hard with it having the goal of finding right fabric partner providing the best quality and coolest designs, where to find highly skilled tailors to develop the best way to produce a tailor-made headband which is premium for its wearing comfort and durable same time, what printing company to partner with, how to make logo embroidered in the coolest and most hazard resistant way. And surely many things above that to make dream happen. That was a lot of work but it was definitely worth it. That is how O brand was born on February 2024.
